In the Latest Issue of Novum Testamentum

Since min. 2427 is still cited in our Nestle-Aland edition (638 times in the apparatus on Mark’s gospel), everyone should know by now that it actually stands (more or less) for Buttmann's 19th-century edition. And for an interesting forgery story, the lastest research report on which is found in the new issue of Novum Testamentum: Margaret M. Mitchell, Joseph G. Barabe and Abigail B. Quandt, ‘Chicago's "Archaic Mark" (ms 2427) II. Microscopic, Chemical and Codicological Analyses Confirm Modern Production’, in Novum Testamentum 52 (2010), pp. 101-133. (Joseph Barabe writes on the ‘McCrone Analysis’; Abigail Quandt on the ‘Reconstruction of the Forger’s Technique’; Margaret Mitchell on ‘The Forger’s Textual Dependence’.)
